Meet Vijay, your lively desktop Nanba. He greets you after landing, reacts to clicks and sends a Flying Kiss on double-click. His Notify animation accompanies wellness nudges, while scheduled reminders keep their own alarm animation and sound.
Keep daily goals and reminders close, take focus sprints, and enjoy character reactions, music and dance support, and optional desktop alerts. The v2.2 build includes optimized WebP artwork and smoother streaming chat display.
Vijay is a premium companion with AI Chat, Word Wizard and Learning Companion. These AI features use your own Gemini API key and an internet connection. Local companion features do not need a Gemini key. Your product license key and Gemini API key are separate.
One purchase includes Windows and macOS downloads and one product license for one computer at a time. Internet is needed to activate. Before moving to another computer, choose Deactivate this computer while online. Find the product key on the order confirmation page under Your license key(s), or later in My Account → License keys; files are in My Account → Downloads.
Extract the complete ZIP and follow the included installation guide. Windows requires Windows 10 or 11 with .NET Framework 4.8. Mac requires macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon or Intel.

Installation instructions
Your Vijay license key appears under “Your license key(s)” on the order confirmation page. You can find it later in My Account → License keys. The key is not inside the ZIP.
Download the Windows or macOS ZIP from the order page or My Account → Downloads. Extract the whole ZIP and read its README and installation note.
Windows: open Start-My-Desktop-Companion.bat or DesktopCompanion.exe. Mac: open Vijay.app and follow Install on Mac.txt. Connect to the internet and enter the Vijay product key when the app asks to activate. One key activates one computer at a time; use “Deactivate this computer” before moving to a new one.
The product license key is separate from a Gemini API key. AI Chat requires your own Gemini key, which you enter in Character settings. Keep both keys private.
System requirements
Windows 10/11 with .NET Framework 4.8, or macOS 14 or later (Apple silicon and Intel). Internet is required for license activation. AI Chat also needs your own Gemini API key. Optional media and desktop awareness need supported apps and operating-system permissions.

Where is my Vijay license key? On the order confirmation page under “Your license key(s)” and later in My Account → License keys. It is not inside the download ZIP.
Do I get both downloads? Yes. One order includes Windows and macOS ZIPs; choose the one for your computer in My Account → Downloads.
Can I use Vijay on two computers? One license key activates one computer at a time. Deactivate the old computer in the companion menu before activating another.
Is the license key the same as my Gemini key? No. The Vijay product key activates the app. AI Chat uses your separate Gemini API key.
Can I use Vijay without AI? Yes. Animations, local goals, countdowns and reminders work without a Gemini key.
Do reminders wake my computer? No. The companion must be running.
Does every character react the same way? Animations and reactions depend on the character’s included assets.
Where are chats processed? AI messages and attachments are sent to Gemini. Conversation history is saved locally on your device.
